Timothy L. "Tim"
Newlon
September 28, 1971 – June 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Timothy L. "Tim" Newlon Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Tim left us unexpectedly on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, at the age of 54. Born and raised in Newark, Ohio, on Tuesday, September 28th, 1971, Tim's life was as colorful and lively as the chords he strummed on his guitar.
Tim will be fondly remembered for his warm heart, love for adventure, and passion for music. A dedicated cook, he graced the kitchens of various restaurants throughout Licking County with his culinary skills. Beyond the kitchen, however, Tim found solace and joy riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, exploring the great outdoors, and playing the guitar and drums. Throughout the years, he also shared his love for music by playing in many bands.
Tim had a deep love for his Lord and Savior and found great joy in his membership and worshiping at Christian Life Center. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding his actions and strengthening him through every season. He cherished his church family and looked forward to gathering with fellow believers, praising God, and growing in his faith.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his adoring wife, Shelia (Boushehri) R. Newlon, and his children who were the pride of his life: Timothy "Timmy" Newlon, Jr., Kendra Newlon, Trevor (Alexia) Newlon, Brandi Newlon, Christian Newlon, Cierra Greene, and Cianah Greene. He is also survived by his brothers, Roger (Anita) Linger, Vernon Newlon, Joe (Roberta) Newlon, Mike (Becky) Newlon, and Jason Newlon; and his sisters, Angie Opena, Donna (Jay) Allen, Patty (Steve) Riffle, Kim Newlon, and Rachel (Damian "Shack") Shackleford. Tim was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many and will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dee Newlon, and mother, Genevia Newlon; his son, Brandon Newlon; daughter, Ashley Newlon; brothers, Glen and Jim Newlon; and sister-in-law, Geneva Newlon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tim in care of the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service , Newark, is honored to care for Tim and his family during this difficult time.
Service dates and times a pending at this time.
Cherished and loved by all who knew him, Tim's spirit will forever ride on the winds of the open road, and his music will play in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
