Susan Jane Wagenheim

A memorial service celebrating the life of Susan Jane Wagenheim, age 69, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 North Fifth Street in Newark with Rev. Martin P. Gehring officiating.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Wilson Cemetery where Susan will be laid to rest near her parents.

Susan was born August 6, 1956 in Newark, Ohio to the late Richard Charles and Josephine Lucille (Moore) Wagenheim. She passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at SharonBrooke Assisted Living.

A lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newark, Susan’s devotion to her faith was evident in her kind heart and giving nature. She enjoyed the simple joys in life, collecting postcards from many places, traveling, capturing moments through her camera lens, and expressing her creativity through crafts. The sweet aroma of freshly baked cookies was a testament to her love for baking and sharing with others.

She is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and Fred Freytag of Newark; nieces, Sarah (Staci) Freytag of Barrington, Rhode Island and Rachel (Josh) Cox of Delaware; great nieces, Clara and Alice; a cousin, Bob Fouke; as well as several other cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
