Susan Lorraine Queen

A funeral service celebrating the life of Susan Lorraine Queen, age 83, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Susan was born November 26, 1942 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Oral Maxson and the late Elsie (Bailey) Maxson Barrett. She passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Susan retired from Meijer on North 21st Street in Newark. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Buckeyes, Reds, tennis, hockey, and golf. More than anything, she loved her Beagle, Hank, and taking him on walks.

She is survived by three sons, Danny Lee Queen, Jr., Stephen Queen, and Mickey Queen; grandchildren, Derek Queen (Molly Bruck), Sabriah Queen, Madison (Trevor) Mye, Sadie Queen, and Abby Queen; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Bill Maxson; and sisters, Jan Francisco and Nancy Reel.
