Susan Ann Peters

Susan Ann Peters, a cherished resident of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on Tuesday, September 4, 1951, in her beloved hometown of Newark, she was known for her warm heart, loving nature, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Susan dedicated much of her professional life to serving at DCSC in Columbus, where she was a respected and admired colleague. Her commitment to her work was only matched by her love for her family and her interests, which included watching her favorite television shows, "Hill Street Blues" and "Nash Bridges," tending to her garden, and spending countless joyful hours with her children and grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her loving daughter, Carmen McKee, and her devoted son, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Holland. She leaves behind her dear sister, Bonnie McClain, and five cherished grandchildren: Cliffard, Anthony, Susan, Scottie, and Kristian. Her legacy of love and kindness also lives on through her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who were lucky to know her.

Preceding Susan in death were her parents, William and Ellen Bayles, several brothers and sisters, and her beloved son, Tony McKee.

In honor of Susan’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held to reflect on and celebrate her journey. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, located at 179 Granville Street, Newark. It will be a time to share stories, laughter, and memories in tribute to a life well-lived.
