Newark, OH - Steven Robert Moore, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the age of 68. Born in Baltimore, MD, on September 8, 1957, Steven grew up with a deep sense of family, duty, and art.
Steven proudly served his country in the United States Navy, dedicating a portion of his life to the service and protection of his nation. His commitment and valor earned him the respect of many, and his military honors will be observed at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, OH, on Monday, May 4, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm, where he will receive a fitting tribute for his service.
For many years, Steven worked as a dedicated dish washer and cook at TJ's Family Restaurant in Newark. His colleagues remember him for his unwavering work ethic, positive attitude, and the warmth he brought to the kitchen.
Beyond his professional life, Steven was an immensely creative individual. He had a passion for drawing, and his artwork brought joy and inspiration to those around him. He was also an avid reader, often quoting the Bible with affection and reverence. A lover of Sci-Fi and horror movies, Steven could frequently be found discussing the latest film over coffee and donuts at Jolly Pirate Donuts, surrounded by family and friends.
Steven's warm presence will be dearly missed by his daughter, Tiffany Copeland; his brothers, Stewart (Diana) Moore and Mark Moore; and his many grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kindness and humor.
He is reunited in rest with those who preceded him in death, including his father, Sherman S. Moore; his mother, Mary E. Rode; his brother, Sherwood S. Moore; and his sister, Melaine Wyett.
