Shirley A. McDonald

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley A. McDonald, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Shirley passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at the Laurels of Heath, Heath, Ohio. She was 76 years old.

Shirley was born on a beautiful Sunday, October 17th, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Ronald Parker and Sarah Pence. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker, a role in which she infused her home with love, warmth, and laughter.

Shirley was known for her gentle spirit and her zest for life. She enjoyed the challenge of playing Candy Crush, the connection she found spending time on Facebook, and, most importantly, she cherished the moments spent with her family and friends. Her door was always open, and her home was a gathering place filled with joy and affection.

Shirley leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughter, Melissa Rine; her son, Carl Grimes, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of friends who became family over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald Parker and Sarah Pence. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Although Shirley is no longer with us, her spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
