Sandra was born May 24, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Bertus and Mary Lee (Johnson) Wendelgelst. She passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City.

Mamaw, as she was lovingly referred to by many, was a school bus driver for Reynoldsburg and Groveport Schools. A member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, she was active in many capacities within the church including Fruit of the Vine, Christ Renews His Parish Retreat, was very involved with RCIA, and was in charge of the clothing drive for many years. Mamaw enjoyed the water, absolutely loved to dance, and enjoyed genealogy. She was especially proud of her Dutch and Irish heritage.

She is survived by four children, Jimmie Michael Croy (Kelly), Becky Jo Moore (Phillip Lee Tatum), Sherilyn Susan Moore (Darrell), and step-son, John Croy; grandchildren, Trevor Warner (Kassidra), Brandon Warner (Cassie Winebrenner), Cassie Sommers, Kaylie (Scott) Guerin, Alex (Chelzie Bear) Croy, Vanessa Brishan Sargent (Patrick), Matthew Tatum, Tony Hall, Alec Carpenter, Kira Rye-Marie Hayes, and Joshua Aaron Leeper; great-grandchildren, Caiden Warner, Caison Warner, Sadie Warner, Ryker Guerin, Aurelia Kate Guerin, Parker Jude Tatum, Chevy Jaxon Hunt, Chalice Hunt, Ethan Harper, Dakota Lee Tatum, Aiden Patrick Hayes, Guage Hayes (Anayah) Joselyn Leeper, and Daniel Guelsdorf; nephew, Christopher Young (Susan Williams Young); and her sisters in Christ, Linda Witlock, Genuta Mulford, Sue Miller, Carmen Lopez, Mary Brokaw, Sally Baker, and Joy Byrd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lawrence Young; nephew, Michael Young; and her sister in Christ, Mama Ruthie Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Sandra and her family.
