Ruth Ann Sentivany, age 82, of Newark, passed away on September 11, 2025 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
Ruth was born February 24, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Louis and Ruth (Bell) Murphy. She was a girl scout leader and teacher’s aide and tutored phonics. Ruth loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed camping, fishing, watching the birds at her feeders, and visiting lighthouses. She also loved to go to yard sales and talking with people wherever she went.
She is survived by a son, Jim Sentivany; four daughters, Amy Sentivany, Beth Sentivany, Cheri Sentivany, and Debi Nethers; grandchildren, James, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Christopher, Jeffrey, Brandon, Emily, Steven, Michael, Haydan, Coty, and Zach; several great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Murphy and family; sister, Jane Wymer and family; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home or to the Salvation Army or Save the Children.
