Ruth Ester Hupp

Ruth Esther Hupp, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in Newark, Ohio, on May 8, 1949, Ruth lived a life filled with love, laughter, and community.

Ruth had an unwavering devotion to her family and leaves behind a legacy cherished by her daughter Patricia Daniels; her grandchildren, J.P. Sellars and Jakeb Anderson; her brother, Ben Lentz; her sister, Clara (Dave) Linger; and her dear longtime friend, Dick. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Lentz, her mother, Nellie Frances Lentz, her brother, Ronald Williams, her former husbands, John Hupp and David Vaughn, and her nephew, Mike White.

A resident of Heath, Ruth was a proud member of the Newark Eagles Lodge. She had a deep passion for gardening and found joy in working in her yard. Always ready for a challenge, she enjoyed playing bingo, diving into a good book, and spending afternoons with crossword puzzles. Yet, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, around whom she built her world.

A memorial service will be held to honor Ruth's rich and vivacious life, at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark Granville Road, Granville, OH, on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to come and celebrate the impactful life she led.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, OH 43055, honoring Ruth’s loving and caring spirit.
