Ronald R. “Ronnie” McKinney, age 86 of Jacksontown, Ohio passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 22, 1939, in West Union, West Virginia to the late Ancel and Helen (Smith) McKinney.

Ron was a 1959 graduate of New Lexington High School in Perry County, Ohio.

He is a member of the Thornport Amvets Post 51.

Ron was an avid tractor enthusiast. Massey Ferguson 35 and Ford 9N were his favorites. He worked on and sold farm equipment as a business. It was an art he truly loved. Ron enjoyed his time in the “Red Barn” where he created and accomplished many projects over his lifetime.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother, Frank McKinney and his infant sister, Sandra.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon S. (Burkett) McKinney whom he married on September 5, 1965; sons, Ronald “Scott” (Kimberly) McKinney, Christopher McKinney, Jay McKinney; grandchildren, Zach McKinney, Nathan McKinney, Shannon McKinney, Brook Emory; and one great grandson, Anakin McKinney; several nieces and nephews and a family friend Tony Williams.

Per Ron’s wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
