Rodney Keith Ray, Jr.

Rodney Keith Ray, Jr., age 75, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Grant Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Rodney was born August 17, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Rodney Keith Ray, Sr. and the late Vera “Jeanne” (Lemon) Ray. He was employed with Big O Refuse for many years and hung drywall. During his lifetime, Rod was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, was an Eagle Scout and received the Wood Badge. An avid fisherman, Rod also enjoyed radio-controlled cars and airplanes and his model railroad.

He is survived by his children, Brandon Ray, Sally Ray and her husband Jason Lawrence, Keith Deeds, and Kevin Deeds; grandchildren, Adriah, Levi, Brayden, and Adelyn; daughter-in-law, Amanda Ray; and brother, Jeffrey Ray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Jackie Ray.

At his request, no service will be observed.
