Robert H. Davis, 71, of Granville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Born in Newark, Ohio, on January 14, 1955 to the late Arthur and Kathryn Davis. Robert was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Robert spent nearly 40 years of his career as a dedicated and highly respected employee at Matesich Distributing Company in Newark, Ohio. Known for his unwavering work ethic and kindness, he was more than just a co-worker; he was a treasured member of the team and community.

He enjoyed the outdoors, found joy in nature and took pride in simple pleasure of working in his yard. Robert was a passionate supporter of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Robert’s life was rich with family, friends, and cherished memories.

He is survived by his loving children, Brian (Angie Johnson) Davis and Katy (Seth) Buckenberger; his adored grandchildren, A.J. and Ian Buckenberger; and his sister, Cathy (Mike) Chapman; his sisters-in-law, Paula Davis, Cathy (Tom) Burch, Wendy (Andy) Neagos; and brothers-in-law, Steve (Cheryl) Wright, John (Becky) Wright, Eric Stark, and Greg Wright. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends will forever hold him in their hearts.

Robert was preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Nancy (Wright) Davis; his son, Josh Davis; his brother, Dennis Davis; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Rosemary Wright; his sisters-in-law, Barb Stark and Toni Smith, and brother-in-law, Michael Wright.

A celebration of Robert's life will be held at the McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home in Granville, Ohio, on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to gather beforehand for a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
