Richard "Rick" Wallace

July 29, 1955 — November 8, 2021

A funeral service celebrating the life of Richard “Rick” Wallace, age 66, of Newark, Ohio will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Rick was born July 29, 1955, in Newark, Ohio to the late Richard Wallace and the late Carol M. (Lewis) Wallace Williams. He was the second oldest and quickly became known as Carol’s favorite son or the “golden boy” as recounted by his three adoring sisters. Rick went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2021, while he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Rick was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He was gifted with an entrepreneurial spirit and was the successful owner of R.E. Wallace Installations, a window installation company he founded in 1990.  A talented carpenter, Rick was well-known for working with his hands, having built a family home from the ground up on Graceland Lane in 1979, and completing a plethora of improvement projects that showcased his skills. During his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the patio with his wife Angela, a weekly spin on his zero-turn mower, taking his grandkids around the property on his golf cart, watching football with his friends, and maintaining the swimming pool for his grandkids (and kids) to enjoy. Just like his mom, “Home” was his favorite place to be, catching up on living a slow-paced life where he enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

Rick attended Spring Hills Baptist Church in Granville where he was able to develop a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. Rick’s legacy is admirable, and he will always be remembered for his integrity, honesty, dependability, and generosity, as well as his strong mind and work ethic. Rick was a great leader to his crew and demanded perfection for his clients. Rick adored his wife Angela and family and was a loving brother to his three sisters. He cherished his grandkids and loved watching his children develop into the parents and adults they are today.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Angela K. (Jeffers) Wallace, whom he married August 2, 2008; five children, Nate (Sara) Wallace of Athens, OH, Natalie (Will) Ditto of Etna, OH, Jerry Wallace of Howell, MI, John Lester and Olivia Lester, both of Newark, OH; grandchildren, Jaxsyn, Nya, Adelynn, Kayleigh and Lukas; sisters, Pam Burke of Heath, OH, Becky (Russell) Clemings of Newark, OH and Linda (Doug) Cline of Utica, OH; in-laws, John and Patricia Wagner of Pickerington, OH, Jeff and Jackie Jeffers of Navarre, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Jeffers of Pickerington, OH; and his dogs, Bebe, Bobo and Socks.

Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Rick and his family.
