A funeral service celebrating the life of Phyllis Luella Welsh, age 94, of Granville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Mary Gene Boteler and Kay Merold officiating. Burial will take place in Kirkersville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.
Phyllis was born January 29, 1931 in Union Station, Ohio to the late Jesse Sherman Warner and the late Sema Tena (Hite) Warner. She passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at her home.
A 1949 graduate of Pataskala High School, Phyllis went on to work as an office manager for the Farm Bureau, Kaiser Aluminum, and Western Electric. She was a long-time member of the Outville Presbyterian Church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, and crocheting. She loved canning and baking and was known for her pickles and her delicious pie crusts.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Karen Welsh; grandchildren, Brandy, Leslie, Josh, John, Kelsey, Samantha, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Alex, Avery, Emily, and Rhiannon; a sister-in-law, Barbara Warner; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Welsh, on May 26, 2011; and by her sister, Leota Van Winkle; and brothers, Galen Warner and Arthur (Charlotte) Warner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Zusman Hospice.
