Pauline Marcella "Polly" Snider, age 101, of Etna, Ohio, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord after a life rich in faith, family, and service. Born at home on the family farm on March 10, 1925, in Hebron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gladys (Moyer) Keller.
On January 4, 1948, Polly married the love of her life, Grant W. Snider, and together they built a home centered on faith, hard work, and devotion to family. After graduating from Hebron High School, Polly worked for Ohio Power and later worked alongside Grant in the family's custom meat business. Polly enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states in the United States. She had an exceptionally keen mind, excelling at remembering noteworthy dates and tracking agricultural commodities.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant son, Duane Galen Snider; and her sister, Louise Keller Boner.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Linda) Snider of Etna and Mark (Melissa) Snider of Grandview Heights. She was a proud grandmother to Kandee (Dan) Engle of Etna, Kyle (Kim) Snider of Pickerington, Anna Snider of Columbus, Grace Snider of Columbus, and Luke (Caitie) Snider of Coal Valley, Illinois.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Cole) McCloskey of Etna, Kaleb Snider of Pickerington, Sophee and Skyler Engle of Etna, and a great-grandchild expected to be born soon in Illinois; and her cherished great-great-granddaughter, Aria McCloskey of Etna. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Keller of Millersport, Howard Keller of Hebron, Rozella Farber of New Albany, Mary (Tom) Johnston of Powell, and Martha (Jay) Bonecutter of Grove City, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A lifelong woman of faith, Polly gave her heart to Jesus at Sunday school when she was four years old. She was a dedicated member of Etna Highpoint Church (formerly Etna EUB Church and Etna United Methodist Church). Her steadfast trust in God guided her throughout her 101 years and served as an example to all who knew her.
Polly will be remembered for the warmth of her kitchen and the love she poured into every meal she prepared. Her cooking and baking brought family together around the table, and her famous Texas sheet cake was a favorite that will be dearly missed. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—a crisp Coca-Cola, a perfectly chosen shade of pink Estée Lauder lipstick, a visit with family, and time spent in fellowship with friends and her church family.
Above all, Polly loved her family deeply. The words of Proverbs 31:28 reflect her life well: "Her children rise up and call her blessed" Her kindness, faith, strength, and unwavering love have left an enduring mark. Her memory will remain a blessing to all whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Hoskinson Funeral Home, 285 E. Main Street (U.S. Route 40), Kirkersville, Ohio.
