A funeral service celebrating the life of Olive Ann Gordon, 92 of Newark, will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hanover Presbyterian Church, 732 N Main St NE in Hanover, with Rev. Heather Thum-Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery Visitation will be held at the church in Hanover on Thursday, February 9th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Olive was born in Newark, Ohio on April 29, 1930 to the late Clarence and Helen Grace (Crawford) McKee. She passed away at SharonBrooke Assisted Living on February 5, 2023. Olive graduated from Hanover Toboso High School, Class of 1948 and was a life-long member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked at Klein’s Department Store, Dotti’s and Kramer’s Shoe Store. Olive served on the board of Goosepond Condominium Association and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne (Mark) Starbuck and Robin (George) Nikolovski; grandchildren, Whitney (Buck) Smoak, Blake (Nicole) Starbuck, Alec (Christina) Nikolovski and Amy (John) Sutter; great grandchildren, Trey, Arden, Claire, William, Benjamin, George and Remington; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gordon; an infant daughter; and brothers, Don McKee and Gene McKee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Olive, to Hanover Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at SharonBrooke for all of the love and care that was provided to Olive over the past several years.
