Norman Leroy Meckling, Sr.

Norman Leroy Meckling, Sr., age 61, of Newark, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at his home. Norman was born November 7, 1962 in Newark, Ohio to the late Thomas Edward Meckling, Sr. and the late Norma Jean (Fadley) Meckling.

An avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the San Francisco 49ers, Norman enjoyed riding his motorcycle and collecting cars.

He is survived by his son, Chief Warrant Officer Three, United States Army, Norman L. (Anne) Meckling, Jr. of Shalimar, Florida; granddaughters, Margaret and Juliet; sister, Deana Keeran of Newark; brother, Gene Jewell of Newark; niece, Norma Ball, as well as many other nieces and nephews; and friend, Jimmy Ball, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. Meckling, Jr. and Gerald Meckling.
