Nancy Lee Ballinger, a beloved and devoted member of the Millersport, Ohio community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18th, 2026. She was born on Tuesday, February 18th, 1936, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to Darius and Ruth Catherine Shaw.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her loving spouse Walter A. Ballinger, sisters Sandy and Cathy, brother Patrick, and cherished great-grandchildren Mariah and Claire. She is survived by her children Linda R. Slee, Roger A. (Melanee) Lee, and Tracy J. (Cliff) Christman. She also leaves behind her brother, James "Mike" Shaw; grandchildren Douglas (Rachel) Slee, Chelsea Landis, Garrett (Brittany) Lee, Christopher (Ashley) Christman, Sean (Jessica) Christman, Jacob (Taylor) Christman, and Isaiah (Michelle) Christman; along with her great-grandchildren Aiden, Zander, Everleigh, Cecelia, Graham, Axel, Diesel, Lorelei, Magnolia, Avonlea, Liam, Logan, Andrew, and Maverick. Nancy was also a cherished presence in the lives of many other family members and friends.

Nancy dedicated more than 30 years to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where she worked as a Computer Systems Project Manager. Her commitment to her work and her unwavering professionalism made her a respected figure in her field.

Her caring nature extended beyond her professional life. Nancy was actively involved in numerous organizations, including the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post #51 in Thornport, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #283 in Pickerington, the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge #2434, and the Buckeye Lake Eagles #2801. Nancy’s love for life was demonstrated by her many interests: she enjoyed playing the slot machines, dancing, playing Bridge and Euchre, traveling, and boating on Lake Erie. She was an avid reader and cherished caring for and spending time with her loving family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, located at 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, one hour prior to the memorial service, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Nancy's memory to the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. The family is grateful to Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, Thornville, for their dedicated care.

Nancy Lee Ballinger will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering dedication to her family and career, and her vibrant joy for life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
