Michael "Swede" Meckley

Michael Swede Meckley, 65, of Newark, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center on November 29, 2015. He was born in Newark, Ohio on October 6, 1950 to the late Jack and Janis (Rohan) Meckley.Swede proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a cook for many years. He enjoyed writing, drawing and was an avid Civil War buff.Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Brenda K. (Worth) Meckley, whom he married August 18, 1990; children, Shawn Meckley, DJ (Melissa) Wigle, James (Amy) Wigle and Jerimiah Wigle; grandchildren, Shawn, Jayde, Zachary, Tyler and Alex; and two great grandchildren and a host of friends.At Swedes request, no services will be held.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Swede and his family.
