Michael Lee Stiverson, age 73, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Mike was born May 16, 1952 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Robert Henry and Geraldine (Renninger) Stiverson.

A veteran of the United States Army, Mike faithfully served his country in Vietnam and was in the military for 18 years. During that time he served in the Multinational Force of Observers in Jerusalem, Egypt, and the Sinai in the Middle East in 1984. He also served in Japan, Germany, and Korea as a Postal Supervisor. After his military service he was employed in delivery for Bloomer’s Candy for six years and retired from American Flat Glass where he had been employed for 18 years. Following his retirement, he was employed at Schwebel’s in security for a few years. He enjoyed serving on the Licking County Grand Jury from July-October 2024.

Mike was a former member of the Newark Moose and Newark Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, searching for treasures with his metal detector, fishing, and was a photography buff. He loved his dogs, Zoe, Elmo, Titan, Sophie, Cricket, Gracie, Lucie, Zoey, Soxie, and Junior.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Michael (Kathryn Gindrat) Stiverson; brothers, John (Cindy) Stiverson and Robert (Pat) Stiverson; sisters, Ruth Stiverson, Faye Acree, Mary (Butch) Wright, and Dory Reinhart; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barb Stiverson.

At his request, no service will be observed.
