Maryland Virginia Keller

Maryland Virginia Comer-Keller, 90, of Millersport, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 15, 2026. She had suffered a devastating stroke in 2023, which impacted her quality of life, until she passed peacefully in her home.

Maryland was born on May 3, 1935 in Rushville, Ohio, to Lewis Alten "Mike" Comer and Ella May Brooks-Comer.

Maryland was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester Ray Keller; great-grandson, Andrew Hayes Keller, and nine sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Ray (Melissa) Keller, Randall Eugene (Karen) Keller, and John Wesley (Angela) Keller, along with five grandchildren, Matthew Ray Keller, Nicholas Hayes (Amanda) Keller, Erica Lynne (Justin) Keller-Brown, Tiffany (Chris) Keller-Burneka, and Kimberly (Nick) Keller-Mason; four step grandchildren, Ashley Moss, Nathan (Heather) Bates, Sarah (Wyatt) Borah, Jesse (Carrie) Moss; nine great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren.

In her youth, Maryland was an active member of the Rushville Church of Christ in Christian Union where she sang in the Comer Trio with her sisters, Betty and Barbara. She later attended the Pleasantville CCCU and is a current member of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Rushville Union High School in 1953, then married the love of her life, Lester, on December 17, 1954. She worked for Nationwide Insurance in Columbus until they became partners on the family farm near Millersport, where she helped Lester with the farm work often by driving the tractors and trucks, as well as raising 3 boys.

She was an avid ceramic hobbyist and painter, making many items and paintings, which the family will treasure for the future.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Dianna Perry, Barb Williams, Mistee Gaskill, Kathleen Thorn, Angie McVickers, Kim Bostic, and others that took excellent care of her at her home after the stroke.

Family and friends may call at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery, Kirkersville, Ohio.
