Mary Ellen (Woodbridge) Young passed away May 1, 2026; she was 100 years old. She was born January 7, 1926, in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Guy and Nellie (Rittinger) Woodbridge. She graduated from Centralia (Zane Trace) High School in 1943.

Mary came to live in Newark, Ohio in 1948 when her late husband, Link C.R. Young, returned from serving in the Armed Forces. They lived on Rocky Fork Rd. in Eden Township for 53 years before moving into Newark. Mary was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ for over 60 years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, reading, and word search puzzles, but most of all, her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Link, who died July 12, 2007; her daughters, Linda Myers and Marcia Osborn, as well as her son-in-law, Duane Osborn and her siblings: Clarence Woodbridge, Carl Woodbridge, Paul Woodbridge, Gail Caplinger, Helen Woodbridge, Anna Cooper, and Leona Du Feu, as well as their spouses.

She is survived by her daughter, Linette (William) Giles, grandchildren: Joe (Luann) Myers, Shannon Waters, Jason Osborn, Jennifer (Gregg) Vogel, Tressia (Josh) Hicks, Jay (Christina) Osborn, as well as great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces/nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Thursday May 7th, 2026, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Friday May 8, 2026, with Pastor Cory Campbell and Pastor Moses Hamilton officiating. Burial immediately following at Newark Memorial Gardens.
