Mary K. Romine

Mary K. Romine, age 76, of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Born in Thornville, Ohio on September 2, 1949, Mary was a beloved member of the community, known for her artistic talent and warm heart.

Mary was a highly skilled cake decorator whose creations brought joy to countless celebrations throughout the years. Her passion for baking was matched by her love for her cherished 1955 Pink DeSoto, her adventures in sewing, and her fondness for dancing. Above all, Mary treasured spending time with her family, who were the center of her world.

Mary was a former member of the Hanover Eastern Star and a supporter of the Licking County Humane Society. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Laura (Anthony) Johnson, Peggy (Kevin) Romine, Gregory (Melanie) Romine, and Donny (Jennifer) Romine. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Whitley, Ajay, David, Olivia, Tommy, Tiffanie, Steffanie, Kayla, Vincent, Raven, Victoria, Breanna, and Samantha; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Perry and Barbara Cummings. Mary’s memory will also be cherished by her best friends, Debbie Hare and Linda Durham, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 50 years, Roger A. Romine; her parents, Lawrence and Olive Bussey; and her sister, Elaine.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service in Newark, OH on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

In honor of Mary’s love for animals, donations may be made to the Licking County Humane Society in her memory.
