It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin E. King, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Martin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at the age of 69, in his home in Newark, Ohio.
Born on Wednesday, June 13th, 1956, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Martin was the cherished son of the late James and Pauline King. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Isaman.
Martin was a dedicated and skilled welder, known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. His passion for his craft was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. He spent countless hours fishing and boating, finding peace and joy on the water. Martin also enjoyed the art of scrapping, turning what others might discard into something useful and beautiful.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Betty J. (Cook) King, whom he married on May 9, 2006. Martin was a devoted brother to Jerry D. (Lori) King and Mark P. King, and a proud uncle to his nieces, Gloria Lord-King and Monica King. He leaves behind many friends who will remember his kindness, humor, and generosity.
Martin's life will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew him. Arrangements have been entrusted to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, Newark.
Martin E. King will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
