A funeral service celebrating the life of Marilyn Ann Fraunfelter, age 90, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Michael A. Fraunfelter (grandson) officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Marilyn was born June 7, 1935 in Loudonville, Ohio to the late Fred P. and Marcella M. (Butts) Kaylor. She passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at her home.
Marilyn was a graduate of Loudonville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upper Iowa University. She was employed as a cosmetologist for a time. Marilyn retired from the Newark Air Force Base where she had worked in Personnel Management. A member of Heath United Methodist Church, she was a very active member of the Heath Lions Club, and was also a member of Business and Professional Women and NARFE. She enjoyed reading, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Teresa Fraunfelter of Heath; 14 grandchildren (all Fraunfelter), Pastor Michael (Nicole) of Kenmare, North Dakota, Matthew (Megan) of Heath, Miranda (Rob Stout) of Marne, Clayton of Baltimore, Jessica of Heath, Allison and Jeffrey, both of Newark, Zachary (Emily Iden) of Canal Winchester, Brett of Mount Perry, Donovan of Cincinnati, Alan, Ian Michael, Samuel, and Harper, all of Heath; 11 great-grandchildren, Madison, Luke, Caleb, Emmalin, Payton, all of North Dakota, and Lincoln, Madigan, Brystol, Brynlee, Garrett, and Gabriel, all of Heath; sister, Barb Shrimplin of Loudonville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy A. Fraunfelter, on November 20, 2005; and by a sister, Kate Shaffer; two brothers, Robert “Boomer” and James Kaylor; and her best friend, Jean Knee.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heath Lions Club or to Shriver’s Hospice.
