Marilyn Jean Allen

Marilyn Jean Allen, 72, of Newark, passed away at OSU Wexner Medical Center on March 3, 2024. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on November 26, 1951 to the late Richard Nelson and Erma Lucille (Dillon) Walters. Marilyn enjoyed crafting, traveling, holiday decorating, listening to 70’s and 80’s R & B music, but most important was the time she spent with her loving family, especially spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Shawn M. Nelson; grandchildren, Shawn D. Nelson, Olivia Allen, Kayleah Allen, Liberty Allen and Sammy Allen; nieces, Margaret Ann Kirby and Marie White; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Allen; son, Sammy Allen; and a brother, Richard A. Nelson. Memorial donations may be made to the family, in c/o Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, to help with funeral expenses.
