Margaret “Mag” Allen, age 84 of Newark passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Booth and Dorothy Marie (Morgan) Burke.
Mag was a 1961 graduate of Zanesville High School. She dedicated her life to helping others including her career at Newark Health Care.
Mag loved ceramics, sewing, crocheting, working in her yard, cooking and baking, which her family dearly enjoyed. What Mag cherished the most was spending time with her grandchildren. Mag enjoyed music and sharing it with her family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by all her siblings, Grace Frenzley, Marie Allen Burke, Daniel Eugene Burke, Donald Lee Burke, Joseph Eugene Burke, Mary Elizabeth Burke, Virginia Rose Burke, Booth Burke Jr., Russell Burke, James Henry Burke, Phillip Burke; her significant other, Paul D. Daniels; two grandchildren, Mariah Wells and Pharell Allen.
Mag is survived by her children, Frank Allen Jr. (Danielle), Marie White, Margaret (Mike) Kirby and Christopher E. Allen; grandchildren, Sparkle, Prince, Sade, Tremell, Chris, Meyonka, Shamari, Leilani, Demitrius, Alonah, Bryson, Cherae, Brielle, Ashanti, Jayden, Cameron, Drayven; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; best friend, Tina Persinger.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Friday, August 7, 2026, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home 179 Granville Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 where a memorial service will begin at 6 PM Friday with Pastor Doris officiating.
