Marcela Ruble

On Saturday, February 16, 2013, Marcela Ruble, 92, formerly of Deeds Rd., passed away in the comfort of Chapel Grove Inn, where she had made her home for the last four years. Marcela was born on January 2, 1921 in Fairfield County to the late Carl and Ruth (Asbell) Amspaugh. Marcela and her husband, Judd, bought the farm on Deeds Rd. in Granville and were farmers until Judds heath failed. In 1954, Marcela went to work in the offices of the Owens Corning Plant in Newark. In 1983, she retired after 29 years of service. While working, she also found time to have many other jobs as a wife, mother, grandmother, chauffer, teacher, lawn service, laundry lady, gardener, bargain shopper, cook, home canning and freezing expert for her winter meals. She also became an excellent seamstress making clothes and recovering furniture. After her retirement she had time to play bridge with the Granville Fellowship group and euchre with the Licking County seniors at the old Zerger Hall. Marcela was a former member of the Outville Presbyterian Church and is a current member of the Heath Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson S. Ruble Sr. and her son, Judson S. Ruble, Jr. (or Junior or Barney, as his Fibergalss friends called him.), and her daughter-in-law, Francis Willoughby Ruble, Jr. Marcela leaves behind one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Joe Lofink of Hebron; two grandsons, Steve (Natalie) Ruble and family of Pataskala and Scott (Beth) Walters and family of Hebron; one granddaughter, Hannah (Max) Randall and family of Australia; a sister, Norma Delong of Lancaster; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Noland Ruble Jr of New Concord; step-grandson Joe (Malinda) Lofink of Thornville; three step-granddaughters, Michele(Ronnie) Gray of Newark, Linda (Marty) Savage of Thornville, and Kathleen (Roger) Ryder of New Mexico.; seven great-grandchildren: Abby and Elizabeth Ruble, Madeleine, Bethany, Sam and Joel Randall, and Josh Walters; seven step-great grandchildren; 17 step-great-great grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews. A funeral service, celebrating Marcelas life, will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main St., with Pastor Dave Mason of the Heath Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
