Loretta Mae Wood

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Loretta Mae Wood, 74, of Pataskala, will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 2, 2023, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Bob Blevins as celebrant. Loretta will be laid to rest with her husband, Jerome, who died in 1970 in the Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg.

Loretta died Friday morning, September 22, 2023, in Columbus following a long battle with diabetes and its effects on her body. She was born November 24, 1948, in Deep Water, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Virginia (Sullivan) Caldwell. Deeply religious, Loretta taught Sunday School for many years. She loved teaching children about Jesus.

She is survived by her children: Steve (Jackie), Bridgett and Jerry; her grandchildren Amber (Tasha), Aaron, Lela, Lizzie, Quinten, Josh (Megan), Jordan (Chloe), Joel, Jeanna and Jody; Great Grandchildren Tyler(Bailey), Messer, Gio, Nori and Cece; along with her siblings, Genny,  Danny (Rita), Pam (Roy) and Tami; her special great nephews Gavin and Mavryk; her brother in law Dave.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her daughter Anita, her sisters Anna and Dee, her brothers Paul and Dave and her brother-in-law Rod.

Friends may call at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville on Monday from 10:00 am until time of the services.

The family prefers memorial contributions in her name be directed to Full Armor of God Baptist Church, Children’s Ministries, 14454 East Broad Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
