Linda Lee Godwin

Linda Lee Godwin, 84, of Canal Winchester passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 3, 2025.

Linda was born on August 19, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, the oldest of three children, to the late Ralph and Violet Huber. She grew up in Outville, Ohio, and attended school at Kirkersville and Watkins Memorial High, where she established a lifelong group of friends. Early on Linda worked at Central Market and at Howard Johnson's where she met and fell in love with Gene. They were married in 1959. During the years Linda was not only Mom to her own six children but to many others as a foster parent.

Linda worked with her husband at their business, Livingston Furniture, and for over 30 years as an antique/auction expert with Mike Brandly Auctions. Linda enjoyed collecting pottery and antiques, traveling with her family, decorating her home, planting flowers, reading, baking, sending cards, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and planning special events…especially the annual Godwin Family Reunion. But most of all, she enjoyed times spent and conversations held with her loved ones.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Gene Godwin, son, Jeffrey Scott Godwin, her parents, Ralph and Violet, and her brother Thomas “Tommy” Huber. She is survived by her children, Cheri (Guy) Gray, Gina Godwin-Burris, Cindy (Rex) Noble, Lisa (Mike) Brandly, Todd (Elisa) Godwin, Keela (Shawn) Vaughan, daughter-in-law Tina Godwin, her grandchildren, Greg, Katie, Joni, Brittany, Daniel, Jared, Baylee, Adam, Dustin, Ben, Magen, Troy, Laura, Mark, Jessica, Jeremy, Maranda, Kayla and Addison, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, her sister Luann Smith, loving sisters-in-law, Bonnie, Judy, Linda and Virginia, brother-in-law Doug Godwin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda instilled a strong connection of love, family, service, and kindness to others that will be carried on as part of her legacy.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, March 10, 2025, at Hoskinson Funeral Home, 285 E. Main Street Kirkersville, Ohio, where visitation will be from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Kirkersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Hospice of Central Ohio.
