Kelly Fries, age 61, born September 15, 1962, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 2, 2024 in Newark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Fries, mother, Susan (Piper) Fries; and brother, Steve Fries.

Kelly is survived by his son, Kelly (Glenna) Fries II; his daughter, Pamela (Brady) McArtor; grandchildren, Chance, Jaxson, Vivianna and Korra; sister, Cindy Hardway Whetstone; sister-in-law, Lindsie Farmer Fries of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a niece and five nephews.

Kelly was a graduate of Newark High School and served in the United States Army. A very skilled carpenter by trade and a talented cook, he excelled in anything he was passionate about. Kelly's drive and strength inspired all. He will be remembered for his humor and wisdom.

Kelly was a dedicated, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Kelly’s warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Private burial of his urn will take place at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery.
