Keith Ronald Pletcher, age 81, of Newark, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1944, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Harvey and Virgie (Cornell) Pletcher.
Keith retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass and was a member of the Druids. He enjoyed antique cars, especially his ’64 Skylark, walking, vacationing at Myrtle Beach, and mowing the grass and tending to his lawn. He was a giving man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, often mowing neighbors’ lawns in the summer and snow plowing their driveways in the winter. He believed in living life to the fullest.
He is survived by daughters, Amista (Bill) Careins of St. Louisville, Jane (Dennis) Pletcher of Columbus, Jean (Fred) Athey of Heath, Molly Ash of Newark, Holly (Brian) Muth of Chillicothe, and Dawn (Dennis) Baldauf of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Isabel Baldauf, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Cecile) Pletcher of Hanover; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and car show buddies, Keith and Grace Lamb; and his fiancé Patty Tharp who helped him to find love and live again after the passing of his wife, Susie. Fittingly, he met Patty during one of his many daily walks.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Susie, he was preceded in death by several brothers.
The family will have a private celebration of Keith’s life at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.
Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Keith and his family.
