Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kathy Jo Robertson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Kathy departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2026, at her home in Thornville, Ohio. She was born on June 11, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John M. Robertson, whom she married on July 1, 1978. She is also survived by her devoted mother, Shelley M. (Davis) Grubb; her beloved children, Mikel (Chrissy) Robertson, Katie (Brian) Tyo, and Ryan (Corrie) Robertson; and her adored grandchildren, Connor (Brooke), Evan, Kyleigh, Regan, Jaxon (Kendall), Drew, Easton, Keaton, Porter, and Pierce. Kathy also leaves behind her sister, Kelly (Richard) Roberts; brother, William "Bill" (Patricia) Grubb; father-in-law, John “Marvin” Robertson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Donald Grubb, and her mother-in-law, Rebecca McGreehan.

Kathy was a graduate of Northland High School, Class of 1975. With a dedication to caring for others, Kathy found her calling as a registered nurse, devoting her career to healing and compassion at Fairfield Medical Center from 1998 until her retirement in 2021.

Kathy was passionate about the great outdoors, and she found joy in mowing her lawn and, most importantly, attending her children’s and grandchildren's sporting events. She cherished her vacations with her husband, John, particularly their trip to Cozumel, Mexico. Kathy loved traveling, having luncheon dates, and spending time with her grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Services in Thornville, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Joe Aldred officiating.

In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Kathy’s courageous battle with cancer, memorial contributions may be made to The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Services, is honored to care for Kathy and her family.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.
