Karen Darlene Farquhar, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Newark, Ohio, on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at the age of 80. Born in Newark on Wednesday, October 10th, 1945, Karen was a vibrant and cherished member of her community, known for her warmth, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Jack Farquhar, whom she married on December 12, 1988. Their love story was one of mutual respect and joy, a testament to their deep connection. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joseph "Joey" Kieffer, his wife, Jeanette, and their son, Jaxon Kieffer, who brought immense joy to Karen’s life, along with her former husband, Craig Kieffer and sister-in-law, Cynthia Schoenhoff. She also leaves behind her step-son, Mike Farquhar, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mildren Bonham, and her siblings, sisters Joyce Cullison and Sandra Crowley, and brother Jim Bonham.

A graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College, Karen valued education and carried her passion for learning throughout her life. She spent over 30 years as a dedicated administrative assistant with State Farm Insurance, where her colleagues and clients appreciated her commitment and professionalism.

Karen was a woman of many interests and joys. She delighted in reading, had an unwavering love for her cats, and cherished moments spent listening to music. Karen loved dancing. She enjoyed attending the annual Patty's Dance Center recitals, and will be remember by her dear friend, Patty Thagard. Her life was filled with laughter and love, especially when surrounded by family and friends.

A private celebation of life service will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karen's memory to the Licking County Humane Society.

Karen's spirit, love, and dedication to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
