Juanita M. Obert, age 80 of Johnstown, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born July 2, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Frank and Martha Obert.

Juanita was a 1963 graduate of Northridge High School and was still meeting some of her fellow classmates for lunch monthly. She retired from the banking industry after 30 years of service.

Juanita was a member of several senior groups including both Johnstown and Alexanderia and enjoyed numerous day trips.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by siblings, Francis Obert, Bernard Obert and Barbara Sunkle; nieces, Laurie Obert-Walker and Bonnie Geiger; nephew, Fred Obert.

Juanita is survived by one niece, Ann M. (Michael) Showman and nephew, Bernie (Dotty) Obert; great niece and great nephews, Eric (Lisa) Obert, Josh (Stacy) Obert, Theresa (Jason) Muhlenkamp, Brian (Meghan) Showman; two great-great nephews; her faithful companion, Watson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation 1491 Polaris Parkway, Box 268, Columbus, OH 43240 or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1-2:30 PM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St, Granville, Ohio 43023. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday at St. Joseph of Ascension Cemetery, 11484 Jug Street Road, Johnstown, Ohio.
