Joyce Ann Clippinger

Joyce Ann Clippinger, of Glenford, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born on June 5, 1945, in Amsterdam, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Tennyson and Flossie Thompson.

After graduating from Sheridan High School in the Class of 1964, Joyce pursued her passion for hairdressing, which would later become both her profession and art.

Joyce was a talented hairdresser as well as a devoted homemaker. She ran her own business, where she used her skills to make others feel beautiful and confident. Her warm heart and generous spirit extended far beyond her work, she found joy in helping her neighbors in their times of need. The cornerstone of Joyce's life was her family. She was deeply proud of her family's roots in Alabama and Mississippi. She carried her southern roots into the kitchen, where she loved to cook southern meals with her grandchildren who cherished these times of learning and laughter. Her vacations, particularly those spent by the beach, were times of great joy that she looked forward to immensely.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Charles Clippinger; children, Lisa (Al) Liller, Charles (Amanda) Clippinger II, Teresa (Tim) Komraus, Amy (Kent) Pieper, and Chad (Rex Everhart) Clippinger; grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Olivia, Cory, Casey, Emily, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Brittaney, Ryan, Cheyenne, Clay, and Josh, and great-grandchildren Tilden, Levi, Jace, Kelley, Westlee, and eagerly awaited Knoxlee; siblings, Kenneth and Ernie Thompson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin Adzic, Floyd Thompson, Linda Sickles, in-laws Verna Belle and Lancie Clippinger, brother-in-law Keith Clippinger, and niece, Cathy Clippinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, in appreciation of the care and comfort they provided during her final days. 2269 Cherry Valley Road NE, Newark, OH 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Family and friends may gather for the funeral service at the Thornville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., Thornville, Ohio, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00pm. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Brownsville, Ohio.
