Jonathan D. Orr

Jonathan Douglas Orr, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the age of 70 at his home in Thornville, Ohio. He was born on November 23, 1955, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Ottie and Freda (Wiseman) Orr.

Jon was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. He is survived by his loving children, Christina (Chris) McLean, Joshua (Neva Runyan) Orr, and Alicia (Harold) Crawford; grandchildren, Haley (Toby McCord), Kaiden, Alayna, Chase, Cameron, Collin, Cabe, and Corbyn; great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Carlos; siblings, Elizabeth (Mike) Anderson, Joe (Dora) Orr, Jim (Cindy) Orr, Tim (Flo) Orr, Rebecca Williams, and Mary Dupler, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, David Orr and Tommy Orr and Shirley Orr.

A hardworking man, Jon was employed as a forklift driver for Owens Corning, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Jon was an active member of the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge #2434, where he formed many cherished friendships. He relished the camaraderie of his buddies at the lodge, where they often gathered to play pull tabs and bar keno.

To honor Jon's memory, in lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home for those who would like to contribute.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St, Thornville, Ohio, from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial to follow in the Olivet Cemetery, Thornville, Ohio.
