Jody Lee Giffin, age 76, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4th, 2026. Born on Wednesday, June 15th, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Jody was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Jody is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Lawrence "Larry" D. Giffin, whom she married on June 7th, 1980. She leaves behind her cherished children: Michael (MaryKay) Giffin, Robyn (Eric) Graves, Robert "Bobby" Fitzsimmons, and Heather (Billy) Grace. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Brad Potts, and sister, Debbie (Sam) Kocher.
Jody was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Sammy, Gwen, Brittany, Brad (Sky), A.J., Camille, Zach (Danielle), and Mackenzie (Zac), and a great-grandmother to Brody and Dawson. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also mourn her loss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Dale Potts and Nancy Potts, as well as her sister, Cathy Christman.
Professionally, Jody dedicated many years serving as a Credit/Collections Specialist with the State of Ohio. Her work was marked by diligence and dedication.
Jody led a life filled with joy, surrounded by her passions and loved ones. She greatly enjoyed bartending in her earlier years and was known for her love of playing billiards, camping, cooking, playing Euchre and gardening. She loved her cats, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and treasured every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held to honor Jody's memory on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, Newark., with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Burial will follow the service in Wilson Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jody to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
