Jerry L. Blackstone, age 72 of Pataskala, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 17, 1954, in Newark, Ohio to the late Guilbert E. and Allene (Elder) Blackstone.

He was a 1973 graduate of Granville High School where he was on both the wrestling and football teams. Jerry then served in the U.S. Marines in Japan, South Korea and Australia as a Radio Technician. Following the military he graduated from Central Ohio Technical College.

Jerry worked at Peak Technologies Inc. for 45 years. He was a former member of Kiwanis.

Jerry served his community as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader and as an Assistant Coach with SW Licking Youth Baseball for his son, Austin.

What Jerry was devoted to the most was his family, especially his grandson Caden.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Carol R. (Martz) Blackstone, whom he married on October 18, 1980, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Newark, Ohio; his beloved children, Jessica L. Blackstone Beck, Austin M. Blackstone; a cherished grandson, Caden E. Beck; siblings, Phil (Sandy) Blackstone, Connie (Bill) Toth, Tim (Joyce) Blackstone; numerous nieces and nephews.
