It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerald Lee Morris, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on Monday, January 19th, 2026, at the age of 58. Jerald was born on Sunday, February 19th, 1967, in Lancaster, Ohio, and resided in Hebron, Ohio.
Jerald was known for his hard work and dedication in his profession as a certified welder with Hendrickson Inc., where he crafted expertise honed by years of labor. Beyond his profession, Jerald proudly served his country in the Marines, a testament to his character and devotion.
His life was full of moments spent enjoying his passions, from thrifting, antiquing, and avidly watching horse racing, to playing the stock market and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Jerald also cherished time spent at Parr's Pizza, contributing to the community he loved. He had a special fondness for Florida, cherishing visits to the state with family and friends.
Jerald leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor and cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay B. Morris (William Schofield) and Mandy L. Ramos Morris (Jeovany Ramos), who were the pride and joy of his life. He was a devoted and doting grandfather to Alaia Schofield and Blair Schofield. Jerald is also survived by his former wife, close friend, and caretaker, Alayna Morris, alongside his sisters Jamie Esterline (Mark Charles) and Carla Bush (Kevin). His numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will remember him fondly.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, James Jerome Morris and Patricia Parr, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms, along with his step-dad and close friend, Dave Parr; and his loving dog, Bella.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Jerald touched are invited to celebrate his life at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with Celebrant Clifford Mason officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, two hours prior to the service on Saturday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Go Fund Me account to assist with funeral expenses.
Jerald will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His spirit and legacy will live on in those he leaves behind.
