Jeannie Lee Houdeshell

Jeannie Lee Houdeshell, age 73, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born July 2, 1952 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Elmer and Rosemary (Reinshield) Burgoon.

Jeannie dedicated 30 years of service as a nurse’s aide in area nursing homes, most notably at the Laurels of Heath. She cared deeply for her patients and often went above and beyond to ensure their comfort, even bringing them homemade meals as a gesture of kindness and compassion.

She cherished spending time with her family and found joy in cooking and visiting the casino.

Jeannie is survived by her longtime companion, Clarence “Doc” Price; three children, Kerri (Brad) Wright, Trisha Sue Vanvalkenburg, and Steve W. (Tracy) Price, all of Newark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her special cousin, Wilma “Kay” Strawn; as well as several other cousins and extended family.

An inurnment service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, at Lutheran Cemetery on Linnville Road SE in Heath.
