Jeanette Marie Melick

Jeanette "Jan" Marie Melick, 85, of Hebron, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 in Westerville, Ohio. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 12, 1940, to the late Sherman and Marie (Wheeler) Engle.

Jan had a variety of hobbies. She was an avid horseshoe player who competed in state and nationwide tournaments, she loved to golf, bowl, line dance, craft and go camping.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosie (Stan) Hibler and Robin (Dan Wyeth) Branstool; grandchildren, Travis (Julia Riguard) Branstool, Charlie (Mary) Branstool, Mallory (Austin Hammond) Branstool, Gabriel Girdley, and Olivia (Mike) Gatta; great-grandchildren, Reah, Jackson, and Maya Branstool, Forrest and Millie Hammond, and Lilly and Ella Gatta, and brother, Roger Engle.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Melick; son, Randy Melick and sister, Linda Riley.

Family and friends may gather for memorial visitation at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, Ohio, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 4:00pm until the time of the memorial service at 5:00pm. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.

Jan's family requests that donations be made to Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Rd., Newark, Ohio 43056. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
