"Jay C" Jay Calvin Skaggs, Jr.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Jay Calvin “Jay C” Skaggs, Jr., age 28, of Gainesville, Georgia, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 108 North 7 ^th Street in Hebron with Pastor Keith McDevitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jay C was born June 25, 1993 in Winder, Georgia. He passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Brunswick, Georgia.

Jay C loved music, the Earth, being outdoors and animals, especially reptiles. He was a real people person and everyone he met was a friend. He always had a smile on his face.

He is survived by his son, Braxton Skaggs of Hebron; mother of his son, Brittany Marlo of Hebron; father and step-mother, Jay, Sr. and Kelly Skaggs of Gratiot; mother, Paula JoAnn Daniel of Gainesville, GA; sister, Elizabeth Skaggs; half-siblings, Michael Betts, Christopher Betts, Catherine Betts and Ty Skaggs; grandmother, Reta J. Skaggs; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sanford Calvin Skaggs; maternal grandfather, James Paul Daniel; and maternal grandmother, Trudy Jamell Harrison.
