Janet Sue Cronin, age 88, of Newark, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at her home. Janet was born December 1, 1937 in Newark, Ohio to the late Paul Plants, Sr. and the late Catherine (Williams) Plants.

Janet enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved spending time with them. She always said that in life she felt very blessed.

She is survived by her husband, Lowell Thomas “Tom” Cronin, whom she married February 11, 1977; seven children, Robin (James) Scott, Cathy (Dave) Musick, Roger (Susan) Cronin, Julie (Jay) Kirkbride, Linda (George) Koukourakis, Randy (Kim) Cronin, and Janet (Jeff) Lowery; ten grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Leighty; and by brothers and sister-in-law, Paul and Francis Plants, Jr. and Ronald Plants.

The family will observe a private service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
