James Allen Hayes

James Allen “Jim” Hayes, age 74, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at his home. He was born June 30, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James Harrison and Mary Louise (Yerkey) Hayes.

Jim is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Rodney Lothes of Newark; nieces and nephews, Jenna Hayes, Ashley Hayes, Addy Lothes, Johnny Lothes, and Steven (Deseree) Lothes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Hayes.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
