James Douglas Foltz

James Douglas Foltz, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on October 20, 1946, in Millersport, Ohio, to the late Roy E. and Dorothy L. (Wyckoff) Foltz.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine (Packer) Foltz, with whom he shared many beautiful years. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family that includes their beloved children, Brian (Tammy) Foltz, Jason Foltz, Derek Foltz, and Adam (Ashley) Foltz; grandchildren, Cecilia (Jordan) Hite, Alex Foltz, Katy (Kyler Heartstedt) Foltz, Anderson Foltz, and Adeline Foltz; great-grandchildren, Penelope Hite, Parker Hite, and Everlie Foltz.; sisters, Dottie Rousculp and Barbara (Chuck) Nagle; brother-in-law, Bob (Shirley) Packer, as well as his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Foltz, brother-in-law, Fred Rousculp; father-in-law, Richard Packer and mother-in-law, Barbara Packer.

James was a graduate of Millersport High School, Class of 1964. He was a faithful member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Thornville. His professional life was marked by a fulfilling career as a Claims Adjuster with Grange Insurance. James was actively involved in the community as a member of the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery Board and as a volunteer Firefighter and EMT with the Thornville Fire Department, serving his community with courage and compassion. He was a member of the Performance Cars of Perry County.

In his leisure time, James found joy in drag racing with his sons and had a particular fondness for driving his cherished 1965 Fairlane – passions that brought him great happiness and shared memories with his family.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Thornville, Ohio. Burial to immediately follow in the Lutheran Reform Cemetery, Thornville, Ohio.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ church building fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
