James Douglas Corbett

Thornville

With a very profound sense of loss, we say goodbye to Jim, who after living life fully, passed on after a prolonged series of health challenges. He packed in many experiences in his 88 years of life.

Jim was born on January 24, 1937 in Coshocton, Ohio. He graduated from Mifflin High School in 1955 and was voted most athletic in his class.

He served proudly in the Air National Guard and Reserve of the United States Air Force overseas during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a race car driver with the race team of Anderson and Corbett. He retired from Ricart Chevrolet as an auto mechanic and was a member of AMVETS Post #51 and the Buckeye Lake Civic Association.

Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda; step-daughter, Amy (Chris) Thomas; step-son, Terry J. (Sharon) Luft; granddaughters, Kayla (Sean) Breakey, Morgan and Addyson Thomas and Brooke Corbett; sons Thomas and Douglas Corbett; grandsons, Quinn Thomas and Gavin Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Corbett and brother, David Corbett.
