Jack Hartford

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Jack H. Hartford, 83, of Newark, will be held on Friday, December 14, at 8 PM in the chapel of The Kirkersville Home of The HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service.Jack died peacefully, Wednesday evening, December 5, 2012, in Heath, following an extended illness.He was born November 25, 1929, in Buckeye Lake, the son of Jim and Edna Hartford. He was a graduate of Hebron H.S., class of 1947. Jack possessed great talent as an artist and illustrator, and had worked as a commercial artist. He was a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church in Granville.He is survived by his family, his wife Jacqueline of Newark, his children Jack Jr., Janet and Jimmy;his step children: Jim (Kay) Roberts of York, Pa., Jeff (Gi-Gi) Roberts of Sommerville, S.C., Kim Minnich of Newark, Suzie (Jim) Rhoads of Middletown, and Dori (John) Shade of Cambridge; grandchildren: Jenny, Jeff, Brooke, Annie, Michelle, Jeffrey, Danielle, Katie and Erin and 7 great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Jo-Edna.The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8 p.m., immediately prior to the memorial service.
