Herbert L. Wyeth

Herbert L. Wyeth, 79, of Pleasantville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Thornville, Ohio. He was born in Thorn Township, Perry County, Ohio, on June 12, 1946, to the late Harold and Doris (South) Wyeth.

Herbert was a dedicated farmer and a long-time employee of George's Machine Shop. With his gentle demeanor and towering presence, he was often referred to as a "gentle giant" by those who knew him. His days were brightened by simple joys, and he was known for teasing and joking with people, always wearing a smile that could light up the room. A man of deep faith, Herbert read the Bible religiously.

He is survived by his siblings, Harmon (Patty Brison) Wyeth, Dorothy Burrows, Alice (David) Turk, Donald (Wanda) Wyeth, and Linda McQuinley; several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., Thornville, Ohio, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery, New Salem, Ohio. The family extends and invite to the luncheon following services at The Old Town Diner in New Salem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a big "Thank You" to the staff of Echo Hospice for giving excellent care to Herbert and also the staff at Country Lane Gardens, whom were like a second family to him.
