Henry D.
Stephens, Jr.
Feb 19, 1935 — Oct 9, 2026
Thornville
Henry D. Stephens, Jr., age 91, of Fairfield Beach, Thornville, Ohio, passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, family, and kindness.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Henry lived there until 1969 when he moved to El Monte, California. It was there that he met the love of his life, Margaret Lauterio, with whom he shared many beautiful years before her passing. He soon became a father figure to her daughters, Mickie, Teresa, and Lori, who loved him deeply and remained a devoted part of his life.
A proud Navy veteran, Henry honorably served his country during the Korean War. He went on to dedicate decades of hard work to Avery Label, where he excelled as a Master Machinist before his retirement.
Later in life, and now residing in Thornville, Ohio, he could often be found riding his golf cart and socializing with friends and neighbors near his home. He also loved fishing and cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Katzenbach and Henry Stephens, Sr.; his beloved daughter, Julie A. Stephens; his two brothers and two sisters, Irene B. Stephens (Stroup), Jerry A. Stephens, Jon P. Stephens, and Nona Stephens (Brown); and his former spouses, Sharon (Bailey) Dilcher and Sandra Kaiser.
Henry's memory will be cherished by his many friends as well as his family: his daughter, Tina Fisher (Bob); Margaret’s daughters, Mickie Carpenter, Teresa Lauterio, and Lori Lauterio, along with their children and grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
